  WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (BP) -- In its first year, a modern-day Noah's ark has drawn more than a million visitors into northern Kentucky to look at the life-size replica of the biblical boat. The Ark Encounter theme park will celebrate its first anniversary on Friday (July 7).

  LOS ANGELES (BP) -- The upcoming Netflix talk show "Bill Nye Saves the World" will likely attack creationism and other matters of faith as damaging to scientific theory and study, apologist and creationist Ken Ham predicted.

  "I am sure Bill Nye will see his new TV series as one where he can try to 'save the world' from those biblical creationists that he falsely believes undermine science/technology," Ham told Baptist Press. "I believe he will try to appeal to the millennials in particular that he is going to save the world from creationists.   WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (BP) -- Thousands of supporters and media descended on the rural town of Williamstown, Ky., earlier this week for the ribbon cutting of a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark. The Ark Encounter theme park opens to the public today (July 7).

  "If it floods again, will it float?" a reporter shouted out during a July 5 press conference as dark clouds rolled across the sky over the property off I-75.

  WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (BP) -- A leading outdoor advertising company has refused to construct billboards a group of atheists had planned against the Answers in Genesis Ark Encounter museum and park nearing completion in Williamstown, Ky.

  Lamar Advertising Company refused the project after learning Tri-State Freethinkers planned to call the biblical story of Noah's Ark genocide and incest, Hal Kilshaw, Lamar vice president of governmental relations, told Baptist Press today (May 12). Read More

  WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (BP) -- A small group of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana atheists has launched a campaign to buy billboards mocking the message of the Answers in Genesis Ark Encounter museum and its July 7 opening.

  The 1,500-member Tri-State Freethinkers have raised $10,000 to post negative billboards near the life-sized recreation of Noah's Ark and to, as their Indiegogo funding page asserts, "drive our billboard around the Ark Encounter every weekend for the entire summer." Read More

  FRANKFORT, Ky. (BP) -- The Kentucky tourism authority has granted the Answers in Genesis apologetics ministry a tax incentive that could top $18 million for its Ark Encounter museum opening July 7 in Williamstown.

  The Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority approved the incentive at its April 25th meeting, ending a years-long AiG battle with the state for the incentive that allows developers of certain tourism projects to recover up to 25 percent of the project's development costs over a 10-year span.   LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) -- Answers in Genesis has won a court battle to benefit from a Kentucky sales tax rebate incentive program that could save the apologetics ministry up to $18 million on its Ark Encounter museum being built in northern Kentucky.
